The Lost RNF 96 Fish Surfboard in White/Mustard Yellow pays homage to the influential designs of the mid-90s and captures the essence of the era’s revolutionary fish surfboards. These hand-shaped boards were initially crafted for surfers Chris Ward and Cory Lopez, who took them to the North Shore and left an indelible mark on the surfing world. The RNF-96 is a recreation and refinement of those iconic boards, combining the original fish concept with modern improvements.

The RNF-96 features an outline inspired by high-performance, competitive-minded twin fins of the late ’70s and early ’80s, resulting in a relatively pulled-in tail for enhanced performance and control in all sizes and types of waves. Unlike many other fish designs, which drew influence from kneeboards, this surfboard prioritizes performance rather than simply relying on speed in small surf. The rocker curves remain faithful to the proven shapes of the past, while the outline curves have been refined with added precision and curve around six inches from the tail, allowing for greater control and maneuverability.

The bottom contours of the RNF-96 consist of a classic single concave to double concave, combined with accelerating vee, resulting in dynamic and responsive performance. While the original hand-shaped boards varied in thickness flow, deckline, rails, and tail foil, the recreation aims to capture the best elements from those variations. With meticulous testing conducted by top surfers like Kolohe, Coco, and Ian Crane, the RNF-96 has been fine-tuned to deliver exceptional performance as an all-around, rip-able fun machine for surfers of varying skill levels.
